Media/Marketing Internship

Rhymes with Opera is a Not-for-Profit ensemble of performers and composers based in New York City that expands the repertory of contemporary opera by commissioning, developing, and staging new chamber operas.

Location: New York, NY
Hours: 10-15/week
Term: September – May with an option to continue
Compensation: College credit optional

Roles and Responsibilities

Media

•       Assist with updating website
•       Edit and organize media - photos, videos, audio samples, etc.
•       Manage social media - Facebook, Twitter & Instagram
•       Generate content (posters, postcards, pamphlets, etc.)
•       Draft monthly Mailchimp e-blasts
•       Maintain Communications calendar

Marketing

•       Update promotional materials
•       Research publicity options - blogs, publications, etc.
•       Draft press releases
•       Promote upcoming mainstage performances, Salons, auditions, concerts etc.
•       Track analytics

Misc.

•       Attend weekly Office Hours in New York
•       Assist with and attend RWO performances and events
•       Attend quarterly (approximate) Board Meetings
•       Occasional professional development opportunities



Videography Internship

Location: New York, NY
Hours: 10/week, flexible
Term: September – May with an option to continue
Compensation: College credit optional
Supervision: General Manager

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Working closely & supporting the General Manager and Artistic Directors with project management and post-production tasks
  • Assist in Post Video Production (Adobe CS5, CS6, CC)
  • Assist in Camera handling (Canon, Sony, Panasonic)
  • Assist in Video Production
  • Assist in Pre Video Production (Reviewing/Writing Content Reviewing/Conceptualizing Projects)
  • Technical/Creative Research for current and potential projects

Requirements

  • Experience shooting short promotional videos
  • Access to video cameras / smartphones
  • Access to Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Proficient in Windows & Mac operating systems
  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Prelude, Adobe Audition
  • Experience w/ Davinci Resolve, Adobe Illustrator, Cinema 4D, Mocha Pro, Google Apps - Mail, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Drive
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ideally, access to equipment: Cameras, Lens, Tripod, Stabilization, Lighting, Audio, etc.

Misc.
